The contract will see GXO manage a 10,000-square-metre facility equipped with automated systems including pick-to-light stations and telescopic arms for package unloading. The facility will handle warehouse management, e-fulfilment, returns processing and value-added services such as labelling and quality control for both domestic and international distribution.
GXO employees will operate the site, which features 100% LED lighting and has been designed with environmental considerations in mind. The facility will support Calliope’s omnichannel growth strategy and international expansion plans.
Alessandro Renzo, Managing Director for GXO Italy and Switzerland, said the company would provide its “distinct capabilities and deep expertise in fashion logistics” to support Calliope’s growth ambitions. Federico Francia, Teddy’s Supply Chain Director, cited GXO’s sector expertise and shared commitment to sustainability as key factors in selecting the logistics provider.
GXO Logistics is currently the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
