The deal extends a partnership that began in 2009, when Pall-Ex Italia became the group’s first overseas network. Since then, the Italian operation has grown into Pall-Ex Group’s largest European partner network.
According to Pall-Ex, Pall-Ex Italia now handles around 19,000 pallets per night, working with more than 200 local members and operating through nine hubs across the country.
Pall-Ex said the new agreement marks the next phase in the development of its European network. The renewal follows other changes in the group’s continental operations, including the acquisition of Pall-Ex Iberia by Cologne-based Emons Logistics Group and the launch of a new distribution hub for Pall-Ex France.
Kevin Buchanan, Group CEO of Pall-Ex Group, described Pall-Ex Italia as “one of the great success stories” of the company’s European operations. He added that Melissa Alberti, CEO of Italian Pallet Network S.p.A., will also take on a strategic advisory role on the Pall-Ex European Board.
Alberti said the new agreement was an “important milestone” for the Italian business and said the partners would continue to invest in the network and pursue further growth in Italy and across Europe.
