IKEA has announced it is cooperating with Tesco to launch a 6-month trial allowing customers to collect deliveries at pick-up points in some Tesco car parks.
Named, “Collect Near You”, the service will run for an initial six months at Mitchelstown in Cork, Drogheda in Louth, and Naas in Kildare.
Later this year there are also plans to add another location in Cork as well as adding Limerick, Galway, Waterford, Tipperary and Wexford.
Commenting on the trial, Martyn Allan, Market Manager with IKEA in Ireland, said:
“Collaborating with Tesco to test-and-trial convenient, accessible, and affordable collection services across key locations in Ireland is a real source of pride for us. This partnership acknowledges the dynamic nature of the retail industry and provides an opportunity to bring IKEA closer to a wider audience.”
IKEA adds that the announcement of the trial follows its plans to add more order points around the country over the last year.
