InPost has announced that it now has network of 20,000 parcel lockers in Poland, bringing the number of compartments at its disposal to an impressive 3 million.
According to InPost, the company’s Polish parcel locker network is the largest of its kind anywhere in Europe. The company adds that it is now focusing on expanding in other European markets, but has not forgotten about Poland, where it was founded.
In a press release, InPost founder Rafał Brzoska stressed that the company shall continue to meet the needs of the Polish market to add more parcel lockers where desired by consumers.
Putting the figures into perspective, InPost said that its 20,000-strong parcel locker network in Poland is almost as many as the number of ATMs in the country. In addition, it is 4 times more than the number of petrol stations in Poland.
Currently, InPost says that 59% of Polish residents can find one of its parcel lockers within a 7-minute walk. In urban areas, the figure is 85%.
In addition, the postal operator states that in Poland, 98% of deliveries reach their recipients the next day. The number of parcels handled by the company in Poland in 2002 was 744.9 million.
InPost finished its release by promoting its green credentials, adding that it was no coincidence it made the announcement of Earth Day.
“InPost is the most ecological form of e-commerce delivery, it is reducing CO2 emissions and limiting car traffic in Polish cities. The development of our network is also a tribute to the Polish consumer, who is increasingly aware of ecological challenges, and who demands a reduction in the negative impact of business activity on the condition of our planet, and this is possible thanks to InPost’s wide network of devices,” said Brzoska.
