On account of the situation created by the coronavirus pandemic, Italy has once again decided to remove some upcoming bans on heavy trucks on the country’s suburban roads.
According to trasportoeuropa.it, commercial vehicles with a total mass exceeding 7.5 tons will be able to drive on suburban roads for the next four following Sundays.
Italy’s Department of Transport has explained that the relaxation of the truck bans has been necessitated by “the coronavirus emergency and the need to facilitate the transport system and traffic flows”.
Our regular readers may recall that some German states have gone further by relaxing truck bans until June. You can read about this on Trans.INFO here. There also some additional truck bans in Germany that have been relaxed until the end of February.
