In Finland, the transport workers’ union AKT has called for a strike from 11 to 25 March 2024. This will affect road transport, and port terminals for cargo handling and storage.

This strike will affect all activities in Finnish ports, including unloading, loading, receiving and releasing shipments, warns Danish logistics service provider DSV, which expects a huge impact on its Finnish network.

DSV has thus announced a strike surcharge that will affect all of the logistics provider’s land transport operations (groupage, LTL and FTL).

During the strike, we will operate under a contingency plan that will allow limited transport options for your shipments. However, capacity is limited and additional costs will be incurred. In order to cover the additional costs caused by the strike, a strike surcharge will be applied to all shipments to Finland during the strike, the logistics provider said.

DSV would also like to point out that even after the end of the strike, delays are expected due to the backlog.
