Last week, the police were alerted about a damaged Polish lorry that had been parked up at the side of the road.

When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered a “completely inadequately secured load” that consisted of 24 tons of concrete slabs.

As the police photo shows, after the lorry driver braked heavily, the loose slabs smashed through the cab – endangering the driver.

Fortunately, the 65-year-old driver was unharmed in the incident, something the police described as “miraculous”.

The driver explained that the loading had been conducted by a third party, though he did not check it fully.

Both the driver and those responsible for the load will now face charges.

The truck had to be recovered, resulting traffic difficulties on the road the last around 4 hours.
