A lorry-user charge (LRUC) will come into life by April 2014 according to the report by the Department for Transport announced on 8 November.
The plans of Department of Transport will be imlemented within the next four years one of its points being the introduction of HGV road user charging. Among the remaining points comprising the timeframe of implementations there are also: specifying the full scope of charging scheme by June 2011, getting feedback and communication with road users by June 2011, legislation in Parliament by May 2013, undertaking formal action and starting operation by April 2014.
