The collaboration between MAN and Gartner KG, the Lambach-based transport company, is entering a new phase. Under the newly signed framework agreement, up to 1,200 tractor units are to be delivered by the end of 2028. The first vehicles are set to be integrated into Gartner’s fleet from summer 2025. MAN anticipates delivering up to 350 vehicles per year.
This is not the first major order from Lambach: back in November 2023, the two companies agreed a contract for 500 trucks worth approximately €50 million. These vehicles – mainly TGX 18.520 models – are due for delivery between May 2024 and April 2025.
Technological development
The new agreement includes the deployment of trucks equipped with the MAN PowerLion drivetrain. At its core is the D30 engine, a 13-litre inline six-cylinder that, according to the manufacturer, achieves a thermal efficiency of over 50%. Combined with the new TipMatic 14 transmission and aerodynamic enhancements, MAN aims to further reduce fuel consumption.
The fleet will also include fully electric vehicles. Gartner is already operating its first MAN eTGX trucks on selected routes in Germany – a step towards locally emission-free logistics.
More than just a customer relationship
The business relationship between the two companies spans over five decades and goes beyond conventional vehicle sales. Gartner provides transport and logistics services for MAN and also operates its own MAN workshop at its Lambach site. Today, more than 80% of Gartner’s fleet consists of MAN vehicles.
