Across Europe, traffic police chiefs are calling on the EU to adopt such rules, which punish drivers for offenses committed abroad.
Tispolu data show that foreign drivers are responsible only 5 percent for increasing traffic on the roads, but they account for 15 percent exceedances of the speed limit on roads. To give them a mandate when they have return yet to their homes is often impossible. Procedures to facilitate the work of the police are not very complicated to implement. What is needed? Just an agreement between EU member states, where they will observe the rules and enforcement mechanisms codifications.
