The minimum rates resulting from the German regulation SvEV (Regulation on social security contributions) have increased. This growth has an influence on the salary of Polish drivers in Germany. Check out the new rates.

On 1 January 2018 the minimum rates resulting from the German Regulation on social security contributions (Sozialversicherungsentgeltverordnung- SvEV) were increased on the basis of the growth price rate for consumer goods and services from the period between June 2016 and June 2017.

Current minimum rates are as follows:

– 246 EUR per month (8.20 EUR per day) for meals. In 2017 it was the amount of 241 EUR per month (8.03 EUR per day),

– 226 EUR per month (7.53 EUR per day) for accommodation. This price was 223 EUR per month in 2017 (7.43 EUR per day).

The increases apply also to Polish drivers

– The change of rates for meals and accommodation is particularly important during settling the German minimum wage and meeting the requirements of the so-called MiLoG, applying also to Polish drivers delegated to Germany – Paulina Eliasz-Pietrusewicz said, the senior lawyer of Kancelaria Prawna Translawyers [law firm].

The German regulation on social security indicates that the cost of meals (currently 246 EUR) and the expense of accommodation (currently 226 EUR) can be deduct from the whole allowance. The amount remaining after the deduction can be added to the minimum wage – Pietrusewicz added.
