Lorry drivers who avoid the Florence-Pisa-Livorno route (the so-called Fi-Pi-Li) and decide to use the motorway will receive a significant discount on road tolls. The reduced rates are valid from yesterday.
From Tuesday, 30 July, fees on the Italian motorways A11 and A12 are to be reduced for lorries meeting the Euro 3, 4 and 5 standards. Trucks that will travel through the Fi-Pi-Li using the above-mentioned motorways will receive a 50% discount on their normal road toll. The regulation is valid for two months – informs the Italian portal nove-firenze.it. Discounts will be applied only to payments made by a Telepass device or the Viacard card.
Reason for discounts
The Fi-Pi-Li route is currently undergoing an extensive renovation work, which is why the authorities of Tuscany, along with the road toll managers SALT Spa, Telepass Spa and Autostrade per l’Italia, have agreed to introduce reductions. Thanks to them, drivers are more likely to use A12 and A11, which will improve the safety and flow of traffic on the route.
