There will be new enforcement powers applied by the Environment Agency coming into life from 4 January 2011.
These are alteratives for criminal penalties meant for less serious offences and they are called Environmental Civil Sanctions Orders. They include:
-Compliance notices;
-Restoration notices;
-Enfrocement undertakings;
-Fixed/variable monetary penalties;
-Stop notices;
The exact calculation of monetary penalties is still to be made for further application.
