The investigation involved checks on four lorries at a road transport company’s base in the region. The trucking company had two certified copies of the Community Permit under which goods can be transported using another’s account.
Following the checks, the truck driver, who also acted as owner, director and transport manager of the aforementioned company, was convicted for having transported goods on several occasions last Spring without the appropriate permit.
The police write that the owner-driver has acknowledged the facts and will decide later whether to appeal the verdict. The case against the driver’s actual company has been abandoned as the firm has gone bankrupt.
