Autonomous technologies and telerobotics startup Phantom Auto has shown off its latest project. It has teamed up with Dutch specialised vehicle manufacturer Terberg to trial teleoperated yard trucks in Atlanta, Georgia. In the demonstration video, a remote operator takes control from the Phantom Auto’s office in Mountain View, California, more than 2500 miles away from the yard vehicle, and performs a number of routine trailer movements.

Phantom Auto was founded in 2017  and has raised $19 million in funding to date.

The company has previously demonstrated and trialled its teleoperated taxis in Nevada and California. Phantom Auto intends to provide a remote operation platform to ride-hailing and logistics companies.
