Today’s headline story: Poste Italiane reports 2022 results
Poste Italiane has reported a 2022 net profit of €1.51 billion, down from €1.58 billion in 2021. The company’s total revenues were €11.9 billion, which is up around 6% on the equivalent figure from the year before.
In 2022, the company’s mail, parcels and distribution section took in €3.7 billion, a drop of 1.2% year-on-year. The number of parcels delivered was also down 12% compared to 2021 according to Market Screener (edit: 31/03 09.40 CET – Post Italiane says mail volumes for the period were equal to 2.4bn items, decreasing by 4.7% year on year).
Post Italiane’s projected 2023 target is for an operating income of €2.5 billion and a net profit of €1.7 billion.
Commenting on the figures, Matteo Del Fante, CEO of Poste Italiane, said:
“Based on our performance, we are increasing the dividend for 2022 and the target for 2023, compared to our original targets, proposing a dividend per share of EUR0.65 on 2022 results, up 10 percent from last year’s level, and setting a dividend per share target of EUR0.71 on 2023 results, up 9 percent year-on-year.”
