The Slovak Union of Freight Carriers (UNAS) published a list of border crossings closed by protesting carriers this morning on its Facebook page. The strike continues in Bratislava, where at 10 o’clock last night the route to Rožňava was closed, and traffic would be on a single lane, according to parameter.sk.
Carriers want the Slovak government to reduce vehicle tax by 50 percent and suspend tolls until a new operator of the toll system is appointed.
The following border crossings were closed by the carriers:
- Rajka,
- Drietoma,
- Holíč,
- Trstená,
- Svrčinovec,
- Bear,
- Siatorska Bukovinka,
- Král,
- Slovak Ďarmoty.
During the strike, lorries maintain the right-hand lane for ambulances, fire trucks and passenger cars.
