Protests in Italian ports. Expect severe difficulties on Thursday!

Italian trade unions of the transport sector announced a 24-hour protest for 23 May. Drivers should expect considerable difficulties in all Italian ports tomorrow.

Port workers of Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl and Uiltrasporti announced a protest for 23 May. Work in all Italian ports will stop for 24 hours, which means that loading and unloading may not take place.

Trade unionists want to renew the collective agreement for the transport industry, while the employers’ side has halted the negotiations. Employees of Italian ports pay are worried about problems resulting from cost-cutting in seaports, which ends in worse pay conditions and employee safety.
