Move marks Rhenus' entry into the French home delivery market.

Rhenus Group has announced its acquisition of a 15% stake in the French logistics service provider C Chez Vous. The transaction, effective as of 28 June 2024, was facilitated by Geopost, which retains an 80% share in the company.

In a press release, Rhenus said the move was part of its plans to enter the French home delivery market. The company also claimed that the deal would help to enhance C Chez Vous’ capabilities.

The agreement was formalised at Geopost’s headquarters in Paris by key executives, including Yves Delmas, CEO of Geopost, Dr. Stephan Peters, Member of the Management Board of Rhenus Group, and Rubén Ruiz, CEO of Overland Transport.

Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Stephan Peters said:

“Entering the French home delivery market is a logical step towards expanding the presence of Rhenus in Europe. There are almost 70 million potential consignees in France. As a part of C Chez Vous, we want to capitalise on this. We are also pursuing the goal of developing a standardised European home delivery product.”

Dr. Peters added:

“Thanks to a clear product definition and standardised interfaces, we will be able to serve our increasingly European customers even better.”

Meanwhile, Geopost CEO Yves Delmas also commented on the deal, noting that Rhenus’ entry into the French market would bring substantial benefits:

“We are thrilled to join forces with Rhenus, giving them access to the French home delivery market and providing expertise in this very specific market for heavy and bulky goods. We look forward to building on our strengths and interrelations,” he said.

As a result of the acquisition, Rhenus Group says it has further solidified its presence in 15 European countries, offering its home delivery clients more market coverage in the process.
