Solidarity food trucks have been set up in several French motorway services operated by the VINCI network to offer truck drivers subsidised or even free hot meals. Today, most of the scheme’s participating food trucks are offering their meals for free!
The French motorway service operator VINCI is showing its appreciation of lorry drivers and other professionals working on the roads during the coronavirus crisis by providing hot take-away meals at the end of the day.
In addition, the chain are giving away hygiene product kits complete with shower gel, a shaving kit, toothbrush, a small towel and a sachet of lavender in some of its service stations. Regularly cleaned and disinfected sanitary facilities and showers are also available to drivers at a number of rest stops.
Here is the list of motorway services that have a food truck on site today:
A7 motorway
- Aire de Saint Rambert Ouest (direction Lyon> Marseille)
- Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Menu: ½ pizza + drink + coffee – 2 euros, free on Thursday
A8 motorway
Aire de l’Arc
- Days: Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00
- Menu: hot dish + dessert + drink – Free
Aire de Reyran
- Days: Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 20:00
