Farmers’ unions have been organizing protests in Spain since the end of January in various regions. The reason is the difficult economic situation of farmers and breeders, resulting from low prices of agricultural products. Today, demonstrations are announced in the area of Seville and the province of Alicante. Drivers should expect tractors on the roads driving to and from the demonstrations.

Hundreds of agricultural tractors can cause congestions and blockades. Suffice it to say that 700 tractors went out on roads and streets last week in Murcia, Guadalajara and Tarragona.

Today, farmers and animal breeders from all over the province of Alicante will take part in a great protest that will involve the concentration of tractors. Farmers set off with their tractors from their places and should arrive around 11 to the El Fondonet industrial district in Novelda, northwest of Alicante. Then they will go to Monforte del Cid, where they plan to gather at 12 – claims the statement of the ASAJA association.

In Seville, farmers are likely to block AP-4, A-4, A-49 and A-42 motorways and expressways today.

This week, protests are still being announced in Leon and Santander (28 February). However, in the first days of March – in Ponferrad (2 March) and Huelva (5 March).
