According to the local police, both lanes of traffic were blocked by the two containers that had fallen off the trailer.
The containers were on the way to Montpellier to be used at a trade fair in the southern French city.

France 3 reports that the lorry drove under the crossing no problem, but the containers were simply too high and clattered into the bridge.
The truck’s load was secured and the road cleaned thanks to the local police, the gendarmerie and the Interdepartmental Roads Directorate.
Traffic was able to resume normally some three hours after the accident occured.
Meanwhile, with the load wrecked, the truck left for the north of France to return to base.
