The bridge on the A7 node Hamburg-Schnelsen must be renovated. The works on its northern side will be carried out from March to July and on the southern from July to October. Drivers will have to deal with traffic.

According to the contractor, the Via Solutions Nord consortium, the renovation will last about 7 months.

Due to the construction works on the bridge, the driver will have to deal with considerable difficulties in the region – reported the German transport website verkehrsrundschau.de.

From 9 March on the Schleswiger Damm (B447) road in the direction of the city only one lane will be available. In the second phase of the renovation, that is from July, for both directions there will be available only one lane per each direction.

Last week preparatory works were started.

Via Solutions Nord is broadening A7 to six lanes between the nodes Hamburg-Nordwest and Bordesholm to the southwest from Kiel. The Schnelsen node is located directly at the northern entrance to the sound absorbing tunnel, which is nearly half-completed.
