GAZ Gazelle NN, the latest delivery van of the Russian company and the fourth generation of this model was presented during the September Comtrans trade fair. The vehicle is equipped with more than 30 safety systems. The production of the new Gazelle will start next year.
The fourth generation of Gazelle not only went through facelifting, but has also improved safety. As Vadim Sorokin, CEO of GAZ Group, noted, the main difference between the new model and the older ones ‘lies in the intellectual platform,’ the Russian press agency TASS reports.
Gazelle NN means more than 30 driver assistance systems, greater comfort, reduced operating costs and versatility,” added Sorokin.
According to the President of the GAZ Group, the use of numerous assistance systems reduces driver fatigue while driving, thereby increasing driver productivity. This translates into benefits for the company.
Among the systems used in Gazelle there are such new features as adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition system, lane tracing assist, EBA (Emergency Brake Assist). In addition, the vehicle is equipped with three radars, five cameras and eight sensors, which may allow the vehicle to move autonomously in the near future.
Thanks to its extensive equipment and low operating costs, the new Gazelle can stand up to the European competition. According to TASS, the production of the model is planned to start at the end of 2020 and it will be marketed in 2021.
