Thieves have stolen an estimated £300,000-500,000-worth of goods from a lorry parked in a Cambridgeshire village. The incident occurred just off the A1 in Sawtry last week while the driver was sleeping in the cabin.

According to Cambridgeshire Live, the lorry driver claims he was “gassed” to make him unconscious of the fact the robbery was being carried out.

Photos of the robbery can be seen via the link above. The images show how the side of the lorry was slashed in order to steal a large amount of boxes, many of which contained sport supplements from the Power Body Nutrition company. Up to 14 pallets are believed to have been broken into.

In the addition, the trucker has argued that the police took days to investigate the crime. However, the police claim they couldn’t start investigating immediately due to there originally being ‚insufficient evidence’.

The report in Cambridgeshire Live states that the driver believes he was gassed due to the fact he fell asleep much faster than normal and was not awakened during the theft.
