The Chinese giant JD.com shows its fully automated sorting centre. Warehouse with an area of 8,000 square metres is located in Kunshan, in the eastern province of Chinese Jiangsu. The robots collect and sort packages to be sent to local delivery points.
A video made available by the company shows the process of packing orders, for which only autonomous machines, vehicles and robots are used.
The entire order processing takes place without human intervention. Thanks to this solution, shipments are carried out faster and more efficiently. Robots support up to 9,000 online orders per hour. For comparison, about 180 warehouse employees would be needed to do the same work at the same time.
