Traffic bans in Europe during the weekend. Check which countries have restrictions.

At the beginning of May, truck traffic restrictions because of Labor Day will apply in many European countries. Check which countries have restrictions and when.

Austria

The Austrian traffic ban applies to tractors with trailers exceeding 3.5 tonnes, lorries, articulated vehicles with a DMC exceeding 7.5 tonnes. Austrians celebrate Labor Day, so heavy vehicles cannot move on local roads:

– 1 May from 0:00 to 22.00

Don’t forget, in Tyrol, there is also a ban on night traffic, so the restriction is valid until 5 am on May 2.

Croatia

In Croatia, traffic bans apply to heavy goods vehicles and trucks with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes and trucks and vehicles with trailers over 14 m in length. Trucks will not be able to drive along the following routes:

– 30 April from 15.00 to 23.00,

– 1 May from 14.00 to 23.00.

The restrictions apply to trucks only on the following national roads (D):

– D8: connection to D40 (Bakar intersection) – Zadar – Split – border crossing Klek and Zaton Doli – Dubrovnik – border crossing Karasovici (Montenegro), except for sections from the intersection with D27 at the Sibenik bridge to the eastern entry to Sibenik (exit at D58), from the Bilice roundabout in Solen to the intersection with the shopping terminal in Stobrec,

– D9: Metkovic – Opuzen – D8,

– D21: border crossing Kastel (on the border with Slovenia) – Buje – crossing Kanfanar, except for section D21 connecting Kanfanar with Pula (connection to D66),

– D23: Zuta Lokva – Senj,

– D39: A1 Sestanovac connection – intersection with D8 (Dupci),

– D66: Pool (A9) – Race – Opatija – D8,

– D200: Buje (D21) – border crossing Plovanija (on the border with Slovenia),

– D300: Buje (D21) – Umag,

– From 5002: Novigrad – Tar – Porec – Vrsar (connection to D21),

– At the entrance and at the port area of ​​Split,

– At the entrance and at the Zadar port area.

 

Czech Republic

The Czechs also celebrate Labor Day. Czech prohibitions apply to trucks and vehicle combinations with a maximum permissible weight of 7.5 tons. The nearest one is valid for:

– 1 May from 13.00 to 22.00.

France

French traffic bans include lorries and vehicle combinations with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes, with the exception of special vehicles and agricultural vehicles. May restrictions apply:

– 30 April from 22.00 to 24.00,

– 1 May from 0:00 to 22.00.

Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, on holidays, traffic bans are in force, the DMC with or without a trailer exceeds 7.5 t. Here are the dates of the nearest:

– 30 April from 21:30 to the north towards France and from 23:30 to the north towards Germany

– 1 May from 0:00 to 21:45.

Germany

In Germany, on holidays, bans for heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of 7.5 t and lorries with trailers are in force. In connection with Labor Day, trucks on the German roads will not be able to move:

– 1 May from 0:00 to 22.00.

Hungary

In Hungary, traffic prohibitions apply to heavy goods vehicles, farm tractors with trailers with DMC above 7.5 tons. They will apply:

– 30 April from 2:00 to 24.00,

– 1 May from 0:00 to 22.00.

Italy

Italian traffic bans cover heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations intended for the transport of goods with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes. They will apply:

– April 25 from 9.00 to 22.00,

– 1 May from 9.00 to 22.00.Slovakia

In Slovakia, traffic prohibitions include heavy goods vehicles with a DMC above 7.5 tonnes; trucks with a DMC over 3.5 t with a trailer or semi-trailer. The nearest of them is:

– 1 May from 0:00 to 22.00.

Slovenia

In Slovenia, traffic bans apply to heavy goods vehicles and vehicle combinations with a maximum permissible weight of 7.5 tons. On their roads, trucks will not be able to move:

– 1 May from 8.00 to 21.00,

– May 2 from 8.00 to 21.00.

Poland

Traffic restrictions apply to heavy goods vehicles with a DMC of over 12 tonnes. Trucks that return to the country after international transport are excluded from it.

Prohibitions will apply:

30 April (Tuesday) from 18.00 to 22.00,

May 1 (Labor Day) from 8.00 to 22.00,

May 2 ( Thursday) from 18.00 to 22.00,

May 3 (Constitution Day May 3) from 8.00 to 22.00.
