Truck driver fined after driving for almost 24 hours using 3 tachograph cards

A lorry driver has been fined and had his driver’s licence confiscated by road police officers in Sweden after using 3 tachograph cards to mount up a driving total driving time of 23 hours and 44 minutes.

According to the Swedish police, the trucker’s daily rest only amounted to 4 hours and a 8 minutes.

The lorry driver was fined 10,000 kr (just under 1000 euros) and in the words of the officers themselves, the trucker’s driving license “was taken care of”.

The trucker was also forbidden from continuing his journey. His manager was contacted and ordered to find another driver to complete the delivery.
