A trucker driving an HGV for a haulier whose licence had been revoked leapt out of his vehicle sprinted off into the distance during a recent DVSA check in Lincolnshire.

Describing the situation on Twitter today, the DVSA said its officers spotted the tattered looking HGV and promptly pulled the truck over.

However, once they’d managed to stop the HGV, the driver decided to abandon his vehicle and simply run away.

With the trucker gone, the DVSA then went about making further checks on the lorry. During those checks, officers discovered various defects as well as tachograph issues.

Given those issues, as well as the fact the vehicle belonged to a haulier who had had its licence revoked, the DVSA had the lorry impounded and disposed of.
