The traffic congestion has been over 600 km long on the roads of the Ile-de-France region this morning. It is three times longer than usual at this time.

As reported by the French media the total length of traffic jams was 608 km long this morning, around 8:30. The reason for the difficulties is the protest of truck drivers of the trade unions CGT, CFDT, FO and CFTC.

Already in the early morning trade unionists set up blockades in Lille, Vannes, Toulouse, Lyon, Nancy and Miramas. Protests also take place around refineries.

Drivers demand an improvement in wages and working conditions.
