Ford presented a headgear created with truckers in mind. It analyses the driver’s behaviour and alarms them when they should rest. Check how it works!
Ford Caminhões recently unveiled a headgear tailored to the needs of truck drivers. It looks like an ordinary baseball cap but in reality it is equipped with a gyroscope, accelerometer, processor and special sensors. They allow for reading head movements of a trucker and their analysis. They recognise the “normal” movements and those which mean that the trucker is tired. When they register fatigue, the cap emits three kinds of signals: sound, light and vibration.
See for yourself:
The cap will undergo 8 months of tests conducted by a group of drivers who, collectively will drive more than 5 thousand km under real conditions. For now it’s a prototype which Ford wants to patent.
What do you think about this solution? Will it prove useful?
