Vera, the Swedish concept of transport of the future? Not necessarily. At any moment, Volvo’s innovative solution will be transporting semi-trailers.

From the beginning of next year, Vera will transport trailers from point A to point B at a truck factory in Gothenburg. And not necessarily at a slow pace – reports the transport portal dvz.de. This will be possible thanks to the advanced sensor technology that allows the independent vehicle to independently lift the trailers. The Vera is powered by the same 260 kW engine as the Volvo FE Electric.

The vehicle is controlled by means of autopilot and extremely precise navigation. It is supervised by the control center using the cloud. Thanks to this, the operator will be able to remotely check the position of the vehicle, its parameters, and load at any time.

The Vera concept was created primarily to reduce the load in ports, factories, logistics centers and wherever goods are moved at regular intervals. The tractor has been designed to perform repetitive, short routes with large, heavy loads.
