XPO Logistics to expand use of HVO fuels and electric-powered vehicles

XPO Logistics has announced the deployment of hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and electric-powered vehicles within its fourth-party logistics (4PL) and transport control tower operations. This initiative marks a significant development in the industry's pursuit of sustainable practices.

The deployment follows successful trials conducted across nearly 3,000 miles in the UK and Ireland, demonstrating a measurable reduction in carbon emissions exceeding 4,000 kgCO2e. The broader adoption of these alternative fuel solutions aligns with XPO Logistics’ established decarbonization strategy.
