The service enhancement will be achieved through the addition of an extra weekly round trip and the deployment of higher-capacity vessels. CLdN has also confirmed that two new RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) vessels will join its fleet later this year, further supporting its commitment to providing unaccompanied freight services with lower CO2 emissions compared to its competitors.
“CLdN continues to invest heavily in both its fleet and port infrastructure, and we are glad to see an increased customer support for our freight routes from Zeebrugge to East Coast UK,” said Florent Maes, CEO of CLdN.
At Zeebrugge, CLdN operates a terminal hub where customers can consolidate cargo and opt for transport to one of its three East Coast UK destinations: Purfleet, Killingholme (Humberside), or Teesport. This setup offers logistical advantages, particularly for last-mile delivery operations.
“We were pleased to underline our long-term commitment of providing an extensive service to customers for shipping freight between the UK and EU at a meeting with the UK government Maritime Minister, Mike Kane MP, in Purfleet last week,” Maes added.
