The logistics provider currently operates around 200 vehicles on HVO100 in the UK, with plans to more than double that figure within the next six months. The move is part of CEVA’s efforts to decarbonise its ground transport operations and provide lower-emission logistics options across the country.
Since 2021, CEVA has used over 11 million litres of HVO in the UK, reducing CO₂e emissions by more than 25,000 tonnes. So far in 2025, the company has saved 2,742 tonnes of CO₂e through the use of over one million litres of HVO.
The HVO100 used by CEVA is made from recycled cooking oil, is certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) scheme, and contains no palm oil. According to the company, it delivers around a 90% reduction in CO₂e emissions on a Well-to-Wheel basis compared to conventional diesel.
Across Europe, CEVA operates more than 550 trucks powered by HVO100 and B100 biofuels, with reported annual savings of nearly 14,000 tonnes of CO₂e—comparable to the emissions from approximately 3,000 passenger vehicles over one year.
Paul Farr, CEVA’s Managing Director for Ground & Rail in Northwest Europe, said the investment represents “a tangible step” in the firm’s shift to more sustainable logistics and will support both customer and corporate carbon reduction goals.
