All-Ukrainian Logisticians’ Day showcases innovation and collaboration in supply chains

The capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, played host to the country's largest logistics event of the year, the All-Ukrainian exhibition Logisticians' Day: Solutions in Supply Chains, held on November 23-24. This annual gathering, organized by B2B media group TradeMasterGroup, brought together over 1,000 participants from various regions of Ukraine, offering a platform to explore trends, discuss challenges, and foster collaborations within the logistics industry.

The breakdown of participants by field of activity reflected the diversity of the logistics sector, with representatives from logistics (25%), manufacturers (22%), distributors (16%), retailers (10%), IT solutions for logistics (9%), 3PL operators (6%), related industries (11%), and mass media (1%).

The audience comprised CEOs, directors, logistics experts, business development managers, and various other professionals. The comprehensive lineup of speakers covered a wide range of topics, providing valuable insights into the current state and future prospects of the logistics industry.

Key highlights from the conference:

  • Market Analysis and Trends: Andriy Mokryakov, a consultant at the analytical department of Pro-Consulting, kicked off the event with an analysis of the country’s logistics market. He highlighted a decline in various sectors in 2022, with sea transportation being the most affected. Mokryakov identified key trends for 2023, emphasizing the development of small hubs, attention to energy carriers, low investments, and the support of the Armed Forces.
  • European Integration: Valery Gubarev, the commercial director of the All-Ukrainian AEO Club, delved into the European integration processes in Ukraine. He discussed the active national program of authorized economic operators (AEO) and the benefits of joining the Convention on the common transit procedure, simplifying formalities in trade, and adopting the common EU system interface.
  • Warehouse Real Estate Trends: Maxim Onufrienko, CEO of Alfa Development Group, provided insights into the trends in the warehouse real estate market. He discussed the relocation of businesses, decreasing vacancy rates, and the evolving needs of customers when seeking warehouse space.
  • Innovative Solutions: A panel discussion on innovative solutions from Zebra Technologies showcased the growing demand for automated solutions in warehouse complexes. Speakers from Bayadera Group and Flora Organic shared their experiences with implementing Zebra Technologies solutions.
  • Automation in Inventory Management: Svyatoslav Oliynyk, inventory management expert and CEO of INTUIFLOW, ABM Cloud, discussed the challenges of the current market and introduced the Intuiflow platform, emphasizing its automated functions and user-friendly interface.
  • Logistics Challenges During Wartime: Evgeny Nikushyn, director of logistics at Fado, addressed the challenges faced by the logistics industry in Ukraine during the war. He highlighted the need to retain personnel and the importance of rationalizing logistics processes.
  • Warehouse Logistics Market Analysis: Oleksiy Shestak, leading commercial real estate specialist at Alterra Group, analyzed the impact of full-scale war on the logistics industry. He discussed trends in 2023, including the redistribution of investments, development of relocated businesses, and investments in analytics and automation.
  • Supply Chain Strategy: Anton Tsemerov, ERP Senior Consultant at Consulting for Retail, emphasized the importance of a flexible and adaptive supply chain strategy. He discussed the case of Linella and how a quality strategy contributed to increased forecasting accuracy.
  • Role of Procurement in Logistics: Kateryna Kuzmina, head of procurement and sustainable development at AB InBev Efes Ukraine, shed light on the role of procurement in logistics. She discussed projects and challenges ahead for the brewing business in 2023.
  • Logistics Complex Automation: A presentation on “UB1 Automation: Tools, Technologies, Result” by representatives of KAPELOU, UB1, and Quantum International showcased the successful implementation of a logistics complex automation system.
  • Cargo Sorting Solutions: Artem Fediy, manager of work with clients at the KONSORT association, presented effective cargo sorting solutions to optimize logistics processes, focusing on automated sorting systems.
  • E-commerce Achievements: Sergey Polyakov, deputy director of the EVA logistics department, discussed the challenges faced by the EVA trading network during the war. He highlighted achievements in e-commerce in 2023 and plans for the next year.
  • ERP System and Warehouse Automation: Serhiy Rudyuk, director of K2 Cloud ERP, provided insights into the ERP system K2 CLOUD ERP and its warehouse automation module. He emphasized the versatility and capabilities of the hybrid SaaS solution.
  • Multimodal Transportation: Alla Kruglyak, head of the multimodal transportation department at Euro Forwarding, discussed the establishment of a direct console from China to Kyiv, streamlining the delivery of goods and saving time.
  • Logistics Automation: Andriy Smalya, founder of ItUa, explored the freedom of logistics automation and the advantages of individual automated solutions over standard ones. He dispelled myths about individual development and provided examples of automated logistics systems.
  • National Award Ceremony: The first day concluded with the presentation of the Ukrainian Logistics Award-2023, honoring outstanding companies in various categories.

  • ANT-Logistics Service Update: Anastasia Kononchuk, Acting Marketing Director of ANT-Logistics, discussed updates to the ANT-Logistics service and mobile application, focusing on improved route construction and enhanced interaction options.
  • Logistics Processes in Retail Trade: Yuriy Poyenko, director of the VARUS logistics department, shared insights into changes in logistics processes in retail trade during martial law. He discussed challenges faced by the Varus network and innovations introduced.
  • E-TTN Implementation: Oleksandr Kustreyuk, the head of the VCHASNO.EDI project, highlighted the importance of digitalizing the waybill and presented the electronic TTN service for participants in the logistics process.
  • Labor Market Analytics: Julia Dalibuk, marketing director of robota.ua, presented labor market analytics in logistics in Ukraine, discussing the impact of the war on workforce availability and job seeker expectations.
  • Rail Transportation Trends: Valery Tkachev, deputy director of the Department of Commercial Work of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” discussed the environmental condition of cargo transportation by rail, highlighting trends in cargo types and transportation volumes.
  • Challenges in Lines and Freight Forwarders: Anna Khakhva, director of the Kyiv branch of Global Ocean Link, addressed the challenges and changes in lines, emphasizing the impact of the war on their commercial activities.
  • Uklon Delivery and Foxtrot Collaboration: Vadim Osynskyi, Director of Logistics Foxtrot, and Yevhen Borysenko, Business Development Manager Uklon Delivery, presented a case study on their collaboration, focusing on stimulating e-commerce sales through accelerated last-mile delivery.
  • Custom Software Implementation: Evgeny Patalyak, Managing Partner WEZOM, shared a practical case on the implementation of custom software in the largest pickup truck company in the USA. He highlighted the unique platform’s development stages and its impact on profit.
  • Changing Customer Requirements: Volodymyr Belitskyi, Head of Delivery and Transport at Coca-Cola HBC, discussed how customer requirements change in logistics and strategies to meet evolving demands.
  • Negotiation Strategies: Valery Hlubochenko, five-time winner of the “Battle of the Best Trainers of Ukraine,” concluded the event with a session on negotiation strategies for the sale of logistics services.

Exhibition and awards:

In addition to the insightful presentations, the conference featured an exhibition showcasing solutions, services, equipment, and technology for logistics, with more than 50 stands. The All-Ukrainian Logistics Award-2023 was presented to outstanding companies, recognizing achievements in various categories.
