Amazon orders over 1,000 Iveco trucks

Iveco has announced that Amazon has taken delivery of the first batch of 216 S-Way trucks that run on compressed natural gas. The vehicles are to be operated by Amazon's partners in Europe and another 848 units have been ordered with deliveries to be started in the middle of 2022 (for a total order of 1,064 trucks).

In total, Amazon has ordered 1,064 of the trucks, which are powered by FPT Industrial Cursor 13 Natural Gas engines and equipped with 1,052-liter CNG tanks.

According to Iveco, there is an expectation that the trucks will yield a range of 620 km (approx. 385 miles) between refuelling. The 848 units on order for delivery in 2022 will also feature Iveco Driver Pal, the company’s on-board vocal driver companion that comes Amazon Alexa features.
