A new HGV fueling station and electric vehicle charging points will be coming to the site of the Anglia Motel on the A17 in Fleet Hargate.

As revealed by Spalding Today, Anglia Motel owner Harold Payne has been given the green light to build a new HGV fuelling station and electric vehicle charging points.

Payne has now also applied for permission to to replace cabins with a new motel accommodation.

Talking to Spalding Today about his plans for the Anglia Motel, Mr Payne said:

“We need this extra service as we have up to 50 lorries park up on a night so they need the services. We have already put up facilities and showers for them so this would be the next stage. It will be an asset for the area and for the HGV drivers who travel along the A17. It is going to take a while to get sorted but I am hoping to have it done within 18 months to two years.”

Once construction is complete, the Anglia Motel will sport two fuelling stations along with four 30,000 litre underground storage tanks. The new infrastructure will be built on an area of land currently dedicated to parking.
