According to the manufacturer, the part of the emission control system in trucks and buses sold in Europe and North America is consuming much faster than expected. The trucks do not meet the emission standards.

The Swedish manufacturer does not inform, however, how many vehicles are affected by the defective part. The Swedes discovered the problem during internal control – according to the company’s announcement. Due to the defect of the material from which the element was made and its faster wear, some used Volvo trucks do not meet the emission standards.

The costs of solving this problem can be very high for the group. It is possible that a service action will be required. Volvo’s stock market quotes have already reacted to this information and are falling.
