A solution has now been found for Betz International GmbH. Insolvency administrator Dirk Poff said Aventra will acquire the company as part of the ongoing insolvency proceedings. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
According to Poff, day-to-day operations will continue and the vast majority of jobs are expected to be retained. Betz International is set to keep serving customers in the automotive sector, precision manufacturing and logistics.
Only limited information has been made public about Aventra so far. The company describes itself as a road freight transport service provider. No further details are available on Aventra’s size or its plans for Betz International.
What made Betz attractive to a buyer
The takeover had been signalled during the insolvency process. Management said operations were largely stable and that talks were under way with potential investors.
Betz International said its fleet remained in service throughout the proceedings, customers continued to be supplied, and transport services carried on. The continuation of operations, established processes and existing customer relationships are likely to have supported the search for an investor.
Betz attributed its financial difficulties to the persistently weak economy, intense competitive pressure and sharply rising costs across the transport sector.
A continuation deal, not a breakup
Betz International most recently employed around 140 people and was still operating 72 vehicles earlier this spring. The insolvency applied only to the Sonnenbühl company, not to other businesses from the former Willi-Betz group.
With Aventra taking over, operations will be maintained. The insolvency administrator said the vast majority of jobs will be secured. Financial terms and the new owner’s next steps have not been disclosed.
The investor search for Betz International therefore ends with a solution focused on keeping the business running, supported by continued operations and an active customer base during the proceedings.
