According to the German website verkehrsrundschau.de, the Bavarian transport minister, Joachim Hermann, is going to tighten the controls of trucks in response to the increasing number of accidents.

Apart from intensified mobile actions, the police will keep order on the roads also from the check points. There are going to be 9 controls points in Bavaria, which will allow the officers for carrying out the controls regardless of weather conditions. The police will use the proper equipment and will focus primarily on the technical condition of the vehicles, their weight, and securing of the load.

The tightening of the controls aims at fighting the causes of serious road accidents involving trucks: tailgating, improper speed, overtiredness of drivers, and technical defects of the vehicles” – said minister Hermann on Monday.

  • on the A9 near Fahrenzhausen in Oberbayern,
