Damage of approximately €25,000 euros was caused by a lorry driver whose vehicle got stuck under a low bridge in Germany. The road had to be closed for 4 and a half hours due to the accident.

On Tuesday, April 27th at around 1:15 p.m, a 37-year-old German lorry driver overlooked the 3.5-metre height limit of the railway bridge in the Nordham district of Einswarden when he tried to drive under it, according to police reports.

The driver’s tractor unit got stuck under the bridge and couldn’t move backwards or forwards without help. The trailer of the articulated truck was also severely damaged.

Fortunately, the truck driver was not injured in the accident.

A rescue vehicle with heavy recovery equipment had to be sent to the spot to recover the unloaded vehicle. The road was completely closed for the rescue operations until 5:45 p.m and the damage is estimated at 25,000 euros.
