The vehicle was stopped in Dützen on Monday after being spotted by officers who saw a cement mixer protruding out the back of its trailer.

According to the official police report, officers could barely believe their eyes when they inspected the vehicle. It turned out that the trailer actually contained not just one, but two, cement mixers.

The two-man crew, aged 32 and 36, had travelled 1,500 kilometres from Serbia with the aim of transporting the cement mixers to Porta Westfalica. They were actually as close as 7km to their destination before they were stopped.

Officers found that the vehicle was “completely overloaded” as well as being overlength and with an unsecure load.

The truck was prevented from continuing its journey, while the two drivers were both given on-the-spot fines in the 4-digit range. Police said the transport could only continue by moving the cement mixers safely to other vehicles.
