In a statement, Constellation Cold Logistics said the transaction was expected to close on 10th January and would “expand and strengthen HSH’s footprint and service offering for existing and new customers.”

In addition, Constellation Cold Logistics believes the acquisition will strengthen HSH’s presence as the leading cold storage provider in Grimsby. It will also increase HSH Cold Stores’ strategic presence in the Midlands, with the addition of sites in Wolverhampton and Tewkesbury locations to HSH’s Redditch site.

The combined capacity of Constellation will now reach almost 600,000 pallet spaces, 140,000 of which will be in the UK.

Commenting on the announcement, Anthony Howard, Managing Director of HSH, said:

“The acquisition of ACS&T will open up huge opportunities for us to improve our customer offering. As well as providing an increase in our storage capacity and fleet, our strong financial backing will allow us to invest in the existing facilities and expand the Grimsby and Wolverhampton sites.”

Established back in 1921, ACS&T operates food storage and distribution across all temperatures. Its services include distribution, consolidation, blast freezing, temperature-controlled storage, co-packing and production support.
