During a roadside check at the “Aachener Land Süd” service area in Germany on Saturday afternoon, customs officers confiscated what appeared to be a forged transport permit, states a German police report.

The North Macedonian lorry driver was charged with falsifying documents and a security deposit of 8,000 euros was imposed due to the driver not having permanent residence in Germany.

Criminal proceedings were also initiated against the head of the North Macedonian company for falsifying documents.

The inspectors prohibited the lorry driver from continuing his journey until the deposit had been paid, and the lorry was clamped in order to enforce the ban.

The head of the company announced that he would pay the deposit next Monday. He did so, and his driver was able to continue his journey the day before yesterday.
