The campaign affects selected Actros and Arocs vehicles, as well as first-generation eActros 300 and 400 models built between 31 March 2021 and 31 October 2025.
Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority, the KBA, said 131,095 trucks worldwide could be affected, including 27,084 vehicles registered in Germany.
Not every truck produced during the period is involved. Owners and operators must check the vehicle identification number with Daimler Truck or an authorised workshop to establish whether a particular vehicle is covered.
Selected Actros, Arocs and eActros models affected
According to the KBA database, the campaign covers:
- Actros series 963;
- Arocs series 964 with an integral rear cab section; and
- eActros 300 and 400 models fitted with an absorbent glass mat battery.
The issue concerns a component installed near the battery. Daimler Truck said the part is sealed by the supplier using synthetic resin.
In isolated cases, the seal may not have been applied with sufficient precision, allowing moisture to reach the electrical contacts and cause corrosion. This can increase electrical resistance and generate heat, creating a fire risk in extreme cases.
Daimler Truck said it was aware of only a small number of incidents linked to the issue and that no injuries had been reported. The KBA entry also records no known cases of personal injury or property damage.
Remedy involves disconnecting the ACE system
The corrective action specified by the KBA involves disconnecting the ACE system. The authority does not state that the entire battery must be replaced.
The campaign is being conducted under the manufacturer code AGM-BATT and is listed in the KBA database under reference 16569R. Owners and operators of affected vehicles should contact Daimler Truck or arrange an appointment with an authorised workshop.
First-generation eActros models also affected
The campaign is not limited to diesel-powered trucks. It also covers first-generation eActros 300 and 400 models fitted with AGM batteries. According to the campaign information, the issue does not concern the high-voltage traction batteries used to power the vehicles, but a system associated with the AGM battery.
Production of the first-generation eActros 300 and 400 ended towards the end of 2025 as Mercedes-Benz introduced its next generation of electric trucks.
Vehicle model and production date alone are not sufficient to determine whether a truck is affected. Confirmation requires a VIN check by the manufacturer or an authorised workshop.
