The vehicle will be available to order from the third quarter of 2026 in EU30 markets and selected additional regions, with series production due to begin in the second quarter of 2027 at the company’s Wörth am Rhein plant. Further details are expected at IAA Transportation in September.
Lowliner tractor units feature a reduced coupling height, allowing operators to use trailers with greater interior height while remaining within legal overall vehicle limits. In volume freight, available space can be a greater constraint than weight. Mercedes-Benz Trucks says the eActros Lowliner’s coupling height and ground clearance are comparable to its diesel equivalent, which it expects will ease integration into mixed fleets.

The new model is offered as a 4×2 tractor unit with a 4,000 mm wheelbase in two battery configurations. The eActros 400 Lowliner carries two LFP battery packs totalling 414 kWh and offers a maximum payload of up to 24 tonnes. The eActros 600 Lowliner adds a third pack for 621 kWh total capacity, extending range in return for a lower maximum payload of 21 tonnes. Mercedes-Benz Trucks quotes a range of around 500 kilometres for the three-pack version at 40 tonnes gross combination weight under its stated test conditions.
Both variants charge via CCS2 at up to 400 kW. From 10% to 80%, the two-pack version takes around 46 minutes and the three-pack version approximately 70 minutes at a 400 kW DC charger. Megawatt charging support via an optional MCS port is planned for both variants at a later date.

The drivetrain carries over from the existing eActros 600 platform, with twin electric motors, a four-speed transmission and an 800V electrical system delivering 400 kW continuous and 600 kW peak output. The vehicle also includes predictive powertrain control, which draws on navigation, topography and road sign data to support efficiency. Five recuperation levels are available, along with one-pedal driving through the digital cockpit.
The Lowliner launch follows the start of eActros 600 series production at Wörth last year. Mercedes-Benz Trucks says the model is now operating with customers in more than 15 European countries.
