DP World has introduced a comprehensive end-to-end logistics service covering road, maritime, air, rail, and multimodal transport for the European market. The company opened its European Control Tower operational hub in Bucharest on 20 March 2025, aiming to streamline supply chains, reduce environmental impact, and meet growing customer demand for integrated logistics solutions.
The European Control Tower will coordinate various logistics activities, including groupage services, first and last mile deliveries, warehousing, customs brokerage, and multimodal transport. Leveraging Romania’s strategic geographical location, DP World intends to enhance the efficiency of supply chain operations and reduce costs through combined transport methods.
The new service will initially target markets in Romania, Moldova, Serbia, Türkiye, and Bulgaria, regions identified by DP World as having significant demand for integrated logistics. Plans are in place to extend these services into Central and Western Europe.
DP World emphasises that the groupage model, consolidating goods from multiple companies into shared loads, significantly reduces empty transport space, lowering the overall environmental footprint.
“This end-to-end service will be transformative both for DP World and our customers in this region,” said Kris Adams, DP World’s Executive Vice President for Eastern Europe.
DP World already operates the Port of Constanța and the multi-modal terminal in Aiud, reinforcing its position as a major logistics provider within Europe.
