The deal will see Steenbergen continue to operate as an independent entity within the E. van Wijk Group, retaining its own name and management. The acquisition significantly expands E. van Wijk’s operational capacity in the Benelux region and is part of its wider strategy to strengthen both national and international logistics services.
Founded in 1907 and based in Bodegraven, Steenbergen employs over 300 staff and operates a fleet of 180 vehicles. The company provides distribution, warehousing, and international transport services, serving sectors including retail, pharmaceuticals, and food.
E van Wijk, headquartered in Giessen, was established in 1949 as a family business. It has since grown into an international logistics group with operations in the Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine, and Poland. Its services include transport, warehousing, and broader supply chain solutions.
Writing on LinkedIn, Ewout van Wijk, CEO of the group, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s network and “offers significant opportunities for the future.”
