InPost and eBay announced the partnership on Thursday, confirming that all UK users can now choose to send or receive parcels via InPost’s automated parcel machines (APMs) and parcel shops through eBay’s Simple Delivery service. The integration comes amid rising demand for out-of-home (OOH) delivery in the UK, with InPost reporting that its parcel volumes have doubled year-on-year.

Under the new arrangement, buyers can collect purchases from any InPost Locker nationwide at a time that suits them, offering secure, 24/7 access and helping to avoid missed home deliveries. Sellers gain a queue-free drop-off option with no restricted opening hours, potentially speeding up order fulfillment while expanding delivery choice for customers.

Peter Blackburn, International Commercial Director at InPost UK, said the agreement marks “another important step” in the company’s long-term plan to make OOH delivery the first choice for UK consumers.

“Through this partnership, we are giving millions of eBay buyers and sellers a new level of convenience and flexibility over how they send and receive their parcels,” he added.

Eve Williams, VP and GM of eBay UK, stated that improving listing and shipping processes remains a key priority for the platform.

“Working with InPost to expand the options available for millions of shoppers across the UK is the latest way we’re seeking to enhance the convenience of the eBay experience for our customers,” she said.

Latest InPost developments in the UK

The partnership follows a series of UK expansion moves by InPost. On 18 November, the company began a six-month trial with the Post Office, installing its first parcel lockers inside Post Office branches in Derbyshire and Wolverhampton. The pilot is designed to offer parcel collection and returns outside normal opening hours, while allowing postmasters to test the operational and revenue impact of hosting automated lockers.

InPost is currently in a rapid growth phase in the UK, where it plans to invest £1 billion by 2029 to expand its parcel-locker network and strengthen logistics capacity. The UK remains its fastest-growing market, with up to 5,000 new lockers planned for installation this year.

InPost currently operates Europe’s largest automated parcel machine network, with more than 57,000 lockers and 33,000 PUDO points across nine European markets. The company handled over one billion parcels in 2024 and continues to expand its UK footprint.
